Good Review Practices (GRevP) Embeddedness Survey

Goal/purpose

Facilitate implementation of Good Review Practices (GRevP)

Overview

The GRevP Embeddedness Survey helps agencies understand how well Good Review Practices (GRevP) are integrated into everyday regulatory activities. It examines practical elements such as the consistency of review procedures, the use of standard operating documents, communication within review teams, and the application of scientific and regulatory frameworks during assessment. By capturing the perspectives of assessors and managers, the survey provides insights into how deeply GRevP principles are embedded across the organisation—not just in written policies, but in routine behaviours and decision making. Results support agencies in identifying strengths, areas where practice may vary, and opportunities to reinforce quality and consistency across the review process.

Who the tool is for

Any regulatory agency, regardless of size or maturity.

How the tool works

The GRevP Embeddedness Survey consists of questions intended to establish a baseline with respect to internal GRevP knowledge, attitude and practice within a regulatory agency. It is completed by individuals involved with review activities and analysed by CIRS.

Practical global experience

The GRevP Embeddedness Survey has been utilised by regulatory agencies in Asia, Europe, South America and Africa. The results provided a gap analysis that was used for training to build quality into the medicines assessment process and strengthen regulatory activities overall.
